Undoubtedly, the landmark of Athens is the temple of Parthenon. Parthenon stands on the top of Acropolis hill and impresses the visitor with its unique architecture. Around the acropolis hill are located significant archaeological sites such as Archaia Agora (Ancient Market), the Temple of Hephaestus (also known as Thiseio), the Odeon of Herodes Atticus, Olympieion etc.

Athens hosts countless museums that are worth visiting. The most famous are the museum of Acropolis that exhibits findings discovered on the Acropolis hill, the museum of Cycladic Art that hosts remarkable findings of the Cycladic civilization over time and the Archaeological museum devoted to ancient Greek art.
