Arguably, the most famous attraction of the island are the Catacombs of Milos. It is a complex of underground tunnels near the village Tripiti where the first Christians were gathering to celebrate their religious duties. In the northeastern part of the island is located the ancient city of Phylakopi dating from the Bronze Age.
