The most popular tourist attraction of the island is undoubtedly the Medieval City of Rhodes. The Knights of St John ruled the Dodecanese for 2 centuries. The city of Rhodes with its impressive medieval monuments and the perimeter fortification was the economic and administrative center of this Rule. In various parts of the island are preserved important religious monuments of both the Byzantine and the Ottoman worth admiring. While touring the island do not forget to visit the Acropolis of Lindos hosting the Sanctuary of Lindos Athena of the 4th century BC. 

The island hosts remarkable natural monuments such as the Rodini Park located just outside the city of Rhodes and the famous Valley of the Butterflies that are worth visiting. Finally, Rhodes hasdozens of museums such as the Byzantine Museum housed in the Palace of the Grand Master and the Archaeological Museum that exhibits finds from various archaeological places of the island.
