In the early 20th century it was the capital of Symi in the Dodecanese , flourished for many years its population reaches 25,000 inhabitants. Today , Symi consists of 2,500 residents maintaining a Venetian style imprinted on the neoclassical buildings of the country. The main town is the impressive Clock Tower , built in the late 19th century . The island has numerous beautiful beaches with crystal clear waters. Next to the country formed Nos Beach which is the most popular on the island.
